The joist shield is part of the flue installation.

It has a role to compensate for the expansion of chamotte pipes in the construction of prefabricated chimneys. As every chassis length of the mounting chimney requires an unobstructed dilatation displacement, the installation of this rosette covers any displacement of the chimney pipes due to changes in temperature.

The expansion joint is designed to provide safe ventilation of the insulation material on the inside of the chimney. It has excellent resistance to high temperatures, soot and corrosion resistance and condensate resistance.
